Baseball
WELCOME!!  To Rockford Senior High School Baseball- 2013
*Coach Griffith says-
*Thanks for a great season- Have a wonderful 2013-14 school year!
*Don't forget to play 'Long Toss' and keep your arms in shape, as well!

* 2013 Team season highlights include:
1. The Rockets pitching staff threw strikes- and posted the lowest team ERA in the past 12 years.
2. The Rocket defense was vastly improved, and continued to make great plays every inning, to help keep the
    team competing in each game.
3. The Rockets struck out a lot less this year, and put the ball in play much more than in the past.
* Individual:
1. George Faue was among the Metro Area leaders in both strikeouts, and ERA., and won CMC player of the
    week.
2. Both Brock Deering & Brendon Schumacher ended up batting over .500- and Brock also did very well as our
number 2 starter, posting an ERA below 1.50.
3. Returning starters include: catcher Brady Boeddeker, 3rd base/pitcher Brock Deering, shortstop/pitcher Nick Tully, 2nd base/pitcher Drew VanDehey, 1st base Aaron Pietsch, outfielders Brendon Schumacher, Tommy Reinking, Tommy Traen, and Joe Agre, and pitcher/DH George Faue.

* A lot to look forward to, as the Rockets will indeed compete for the conference title in 2014!

*Varsity Baseball Lettering Requirements*

1. Make game appearance in a number of innings equal to the number of games played in the regular schedule, exclusive of post-season play (i.e. 18 games would require 18 innings of play).
2. Be a member of the varsity squad for the regular season, regardless of the number of innings played.
3. Make a game appearance in post-season tournament play.
4. Be a senior with at least two years of constructive participation, regardless of membership on varsity or junior varsity squads.
5. In addition to the above standards, the coaches will evaluate each candidate in terms of attitude and contribution to the welfare of the team.
6. End the season in good standing.
